Germany interested in French warships according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 19 December 1941

An item referred to U.S. Amb. Vichy France reporting that since 17 December Germany was pressing Vichy France and within the next 10 days was an ultimatum expected. Except for bases in Africa seemed Germany want to use the French fleet.
