Call sign JNUA. Launched by A. Rodger&Co., Glasgow, Scotland on the Bay yard with yard number 390 as Canadian-flagged Bessie Dollar on 17 October 1905 and torpedoed by the American submarine USS Haddo (SS-255) 4 miles south of Cape Calavite, Mindoro, Philippines on 21 August 1944. Gross tonnage 4,390 tons, under deck 4,055 tons, net tonnage 2,737 tons, deadweight 7,342 tons and as dimensions 369.7 x 50.0 x 18.8 x 10,9 (light)-24 (loaded) feet. Coal-fuelled reciprocating propulsion. Coal bunker capacity 1,000 tons. Range 7,500 nautical miles/9.5 knots. Speed 9.5 (normal cruising)-10 (maximum) knots.
