Greek mine laying cruiser of the Helle-class (1914) 1925-1940

The only unit of her class. Originally laid down on 1914 in the USA as a training cruiser for Chinese Navy but later purchased by Greece. In 1925 she had a general refit and was converted into a mine laying Cruiser. Sunk at Tinos Island on 15 August 1940 by the Italian Submarine RM Delfino while she was at anchorage for a big religion celebration and without any declaration of war between Greece & Italy! Dimensions 98m x 13 m x 4,5m, an armament consisting of 3-6" guns, 3-3" guns, 2-40mm guns, 2-18", torpedo tubes and 100 mines. Her speed was 21 knots.
