Ships lost by the W.I.C. chamber Zealand sent towards the West Coast of Africa 1674-1726

After the failure of the first Dutch West Indie Company was in 1674 a second company founded. This second W.I.C. suffered the same financial problems as her predecessor with nearly continuous losses. Without success she tried to hold fast her monopoly on the colonial trade within her territory. Her main purpose was the management of parts of her African and Caribbean possessions. The core business was the slave trade towards the Caribbean. By decision of the States General 31 December 1791 she was discontinued. There are two geographic names which I can't translate well, namely Isequepe (presumably Essequibo in South-America) and Ardra in Africa (Accra?). Argies lies in Senegal.
