The British naval policy according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant morning edition dated 18 January 1925

London, 17 January. According to sources in the navy intended the Admiralty to strengthen the fleet in the Eastern waters remarkable, namely in the Mediterranean and the Indian and Chinese waters. The Indian fleet was to be replaced by a complete new squadron of modern heavier armed cruisers which were at that moment being build These changes were a result of the new British naval policy since the German navy was destroyed. While it was not longer urged to maintain a strong fleet in European waters it became possible to distribute the means in response to strategically needs of the British Empire. The ships were stationed in a manner to send them easily to locations where their presence at once was needed. According to the rumours was the Mediterranean fleet all ready doubled since autumn 1924 to be further increased.
