Dutch whaler De Hoopende Visser for sale at Westzaandam according to the Dutch newspaper Amsterdamse courant dated 4 October 1794

An announcement reported that the brokers M. der Kinderen, S. Jongewaard junior, M. te Veltrup and J. van Sante intended to sell on an auction on Saturday 11 October 14.00 oclock in the tavern Den Otter at Westzaandam an extra ordinary well sailing fluytship De Hoopende Visser, in 1773 newly fitted out, dimensions 108½’ x 28’9”x 12’½”, height verdeck 6’7”and height steering platform 9½’, last commandeur Dirk Vroegop and all the whale catchers tools property of the commandeur. The newspaper Rotterdamsche courant dated 9 October 1794 confirmed this announcement.
