French and Turkish naval movements in the Mediterranean according to the Dutch newspaper Arnhemsche Courant dated 28 July 1838

An item dated Constantinople 4 July reported that two days earlier the fleet consisting of 5 ships of the line, 7 frigates, 4 brigs and goelettes and a steamboat commanded by the grand admiral Fewzi-pacha entered the Mediterranean. In the last days were to the 3,000 men landing troops on board another 2,000 men added. The French admiral Roussin ordered admiral Gallois to watch the movements of the Turkish fleet not trusting the statements of the Porte.
