Naval base at Trinidad handed over to the USA according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland evening edition dated 2 August 1941

An item reported that according to the British Intelligence Service the night before the naval and air force basis at Trinidad officially was handed over to the USA. The Advertentieblad van het department van de Wester-Eems dated Monday 4 August confirmed this transfer which found place Friday night
