An item reported that the Dutch shipping company Kon. Paketvaart Maatschappij take the steamship Maetsuycker (1) of 1,278 gross tons and build in 1890 and the Gouverneur Generaal Daendels (2) of 1,264 gross tons and build in 1902 out of service. The first ship was sold to Singapore to be broken up and the second one was sold to the Heap Eng Moh Steamship Company of Singapore.

The newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated Monday 7 July 1890 reported that on Saturday morning she was launched as the third steamship of the A-design. However not at Flushing but at the shipyard of L. Smit&Zoon at Kinderdijk while the shipyard at Flushing was lacking space capacity. She was expected to arrive within 14 days at Flushing to be completed and to be fitted out with the steam engine with boilers and so on. Archief Kon.Mij. Dimensions 251’6” (between perpendiculars)-260’9” (over all) x 33’10” x 18’0” + 7’6” sun deck and as draught 13’6”- 17’6” (fullo laoded with a displacement of 2,554 tons). Deadweight 800-1,254 (maximum) tons and 1326,35 gross and 845,7 net tons. Coal bunker capcity 195 ton. Building ordered on 16 October 1888 (no. 71), hull built by the shipyard of L. Smit jr. at Kinderdijk, launched on 5 July 1890 by captain C.J. Peter, arrived at the shipyard at Flushing on 2 August, engines estetd while berthed on 24 October, on 4 November official trial and on 5 November delivered. The hull was build by Smit for ƒ 125.000 with De Schelde delivering the needed steel, casting werk portholes and so on. Decommissioned on 23 June 1930 and sold in September 1931 to be broken up. Triple compound engine supplied 1,100 ihp.
