German submarine sunk French transport Algérie according to the Dutch newspaper De Zeeuw dated 13 December 1916

An item reported that on 4 December a German submarine near Malta sunk the transport Algérie of 4,035 tons which was in French navy service. An officer and six soldiers returning from Saloniki to France were taken prisoner of war.
