US navy building slipway with Groenhart timber from Demerrre according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws: algemeen dagblad dated 18 January 1954

An item reported that according to A. Chatin president of the Greenhart Demerara Incorporation and director of BG Timbers the US navy used Groenhart timber from Demerare for building a slipway for launching the first nuclear submarine.
