Dutch bark ship Jonge Jan bound towards Surabaya and Batavia according to the Dutch newspaper Dagblad van Zuidholland en ‘s-Gravenhage dated 31 October 1869

An announcement reported that the newly coppered fast Dutch bark ship Jonge Jan captain C.J. Itz was lying in Rotterdam destined directly towards to Surabaya and to Batavia for embarking passengers. Improved with latest information until 1 April 1869. Mentioned no Jonge Jan but a bark Johannes Lodewijk, homeport Alblasserdam, measurement 770 tons and call sign PGKR. This website claims that she was built as the Johannes Lodewijk in 1857 at the shipyard of Floris Kloos at Alblasserdam and renamed Jonge Jan after she was sold on 14 June 1869 for ƒ 26.600 and finally sold to Surabaya in 1877. The newspaper Rotterdamsche Courant dated Fridaty10 April 1857 reported that the 8th at the shipyard of F. Kloos at Alblasserdam the frigate ship Johannes Lodewijk of circa 400 measured lasten was launched for J. van Delft of Overschie and captain to be A.H. van der Waal.
