Dutch frigate ship Cornelis Houtman homeward bound according to the Dutch newspaper Javasche Courant dated 14 November 1840

1. The website http://www.scheepsindex.nl/schip.php?i=4171 reports that she was built in 1839 in Amsterdam for Van Baggen&Co. In 1861 sold to England. The newspaper De Avondbode dated 29 January 1839 reported that on Tuesday the 29th that if the weather was not unwilling at the shipyard De Zwarte Beer in the end of the Kleine Kattenburgerstraat by shipbuilder J. Knol the frigate ship Cornelis Houtman would be launched. Willem Pieter Pook van Baggen (12 July 1793-11 April 1854) ship owner, married to Johanna Elizabeth Rahder (1810-1841).
