Dutch tugs Ingenieur Egelie and W. van der Laan built at Sliedrecht, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Limburgsch dagblad dated 8 February 1962
An item dated Heerlen, Netherlands 7 February reported that at one of the slips of the Dutch shipyard N.V. Scheepsbouwwerf en Lasbedrijf v/h J.C. Slob, Industrieweg, Sliedrecht, Netherlands the tug Ingenieur Egelie was launched for account of NV Steen Transport Maatschappij at Stein. She was to used for transporting rocks from the coal mines. This transport was a result of the recently developed project by engineers from Provinciale Waterstaat and the States Mines to use the rocks for filling the so-called gravel pits. The tug was needed to tow the barges. The shipyard was ordered a similar ship to be called W. van der Laan.
