American navy secretary Knox expected within 10 days armed North American merchant ships to cross the Atlantic according to the Dutch newspaper Amigoe di Curacao dated 20 November 1941

An item referred to a statement of Knox that within 7-10 days armed North American merchant ships would cross the North Atlantic Ocean. Further more he expected that as a result of altering the Neutrality Act the North American merchant ships now registered in Panama would be again USA-flagged.
