British cruiser HMS St. George was to become mother ship for destroyers according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1908-1909 no. 3

An item reported that the British cruiser 1st class HMS St. George would be converted that year at Chatham into a mother ship of destroyers.(1)

Note
1. A 1st class cruiser launched at the shipyard of Earl, Hull on 23 June 1892, converted into a depot ship in 1909 and finally sold on 1 July 1920 to S. Castle at Plymouth. Original displacement 7.700 tons with as dimensions 360’ x 61’.
