German navy ordered building at Kiel of Ersatz Schwalbe cruiser according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1908-1909 no. 4

An item referred to the magazine Schifbau reporting that the Germaniawerft at Kiel of Fredrich Krupp was ordered to built a small cruiser Ersatz Schwalbe. The building was approved by the budget 1908. She was to be fitted out with steam turbines of the Zoelly design allowing a speed of around 26 miles and to work economically with a lesser speed.
