Russian navy interested in building submarine cruiser according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1908-1909 no. 3

An item reported that during a lecture on a meeting of the Russian fleet association the development the building of a 3.000 submarine cruiser at the Weserwerf was discussed. Her speed was to be probably propelled by electrically engines just 5 miles when submerged, however her turbines allowed a surfaced speed of 26 miles and when semi submerged 23 miles. The range was expected to be 570 miles.
