The Russian Sevastopol-class according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1910-1911 no. 6

Gangut-class

An item referred to the magazine Engineering supplying more details about the four new Russian battleships of the Sevastopol-class.(1) Their displacement was 23.000 tons and the 42.000 hp allowed a speed of 23 miles. The 4x3-30,5cm guns were placed on the centreline all on the same height above the water. The result was that not only a theoretical hit could disable 3 guns at the same time but if this was the fore of aft turret she could not fire with her heaviest calibre guns straight ahead or aft. The armour belt was 22cm thick while the hull above and the ships’ ends were protected by 12cm thick armour. According to exports was this armour not strong enough for the time being. Fitted out with 2 rudders. It was stated that the ships were to be completed within 3 years despite that the Andre Pervosvanny (2) laid down in April 1903 still was not completed.
