Building started of the Austrian battleships Kaiser Franz-Josef and Tegetthoff according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1910-1911 no. 6

Tegethoff-class

An item reported that at the shipyard Stabilimento Technico at Trieste the building was started of the Austrian battleships Kaiser-Franz-Jozef and Tegetthoff. The other two similar battleships were to be built at Pola and Fiume.(1) The main armament was to be 12-30,5cm guns placed amidships. The Parsons-turbines were contracted to developed 25.000-28.000 hp to allow an expected speed of 21 miles.

1. This must be the Tegetthoff-class consisting of the Viribus Unitis (laid down on24 July 1910 at Trieste), the Tegetthoff (laid down on 24 September 1910 at Trieste), the Prinz Eugen (laid down on 16 January 1912 at Trieste) and the Szent Istvan (laid down on 29 January 1912 at Fiume).
