British steam tanker Elkhound burned according to the Dutch newspaper Voorwaarts dated 18 October 1930

An item dated London the 17th reported that on board of the British steam tanker Elkhound of London while she was on the Thames fire broke out. She was loaded with a cargo of 600 ton benzol. Several efforts to extinguish the fire were unsuccessful and she was towed to sea and beached and allowed to burn out completely. Her crew was saved. She was built in 1929 with a tonnage of 684 gross and 309 net tons.
