Dutch steam tanker American became Belgian Belpetrola according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 28 November 1924

An item reported that the Dutch steam tanker American was sold by the American Petroleum Company at Rotterdam, Netherlands to the Soc. An. Belgo-Caucasienne at Brussels, Belgium and was renamed Belpetrola. She was built in 1892 by Palmers C. Ltd., Newcastle, England with a tonnage of 2.526 gross and 2.266 net tons.
