Keel not earlier laid down on 14 October 1982, was she launched on 4 August tow years later by Mrs. William F. Smith, handed over on 26 June 1985 and commissioned on 27 July. She is also indicated as a VLS submarine meaning that’s she is fitted out with the Vertical Launch System for Tomahawk missiles. Identification number UIC 21029. With a displacement of 403 long tons/409 tons (dead0-5.781 long tons/5.875 tons (light)-6.184 long tons/6.283 tons (full) are her dimensions 110,3 x 10 x 9,4 metres or 361’11” x 32’10” x 30’10”. Speed 20 (surfaced)-20 (submerged) knots. Her crew numbers 110 men. The armament includes 4-21”/53,3cm bow torpedo tubes, Tomahawk and Harpoon missiles and mines.
