Japanese submarine activities increasing according to the Dutch newspaper Drentsch dagblad dated 16 April 1943

An item referred to a statement of the Japanese admiral Soejetsoego former commander in chief of the Japanese fleet. He claimed that Japanese submarines would increase their activities in the Indian Ocean considerable.(1) He was considered to be the founder of the Japanese submarine fleet. Further more he thought that Japan would launch large operations in the Indian Ocean and the Pasific against the USA and the United Kingdom.
