France needed own submarine fleet according to the Dutch newspaper Limburger Koerier dated 25 June 1920

An item dated Paris 23 June referred to the Journal des Débates reporting that France needed a submarine fleet which was not forbidden in the peace treaty.(1) Germany was not allowed to have submarines due to abuse during the war.
