Russian naval shipbuilding according to the Dutch newspaper ‘s Hertogenbossche Courant dated 29 March 1776

According to an item dated Hamburg, Germany 15 March arrived Mr. Gordon a Scottish nobleman and director general of the shipbuilding at Riga at St. Petersburg being ordered by the Russian empress to do so. Gordon was decorated as knight in the order of St. Alexander Newsky and further more with 1,000 farmers in Livonia and 30,000 rubles.
