The Greek navy in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 2 July 1821

Trieste, 12 June. According to tidings from Greeks living here, consisted the Greek navy of 250 vessels of different sizes. This number must be exaggerated. The navy was divided in 4 squadrons, one cruising off the coasts of the Peloponnesus, the second was near Tenedos, the third between the island Candia and Cyprus to protect the Cycladen and the fourth which was the largest and supplying all orders was stationed off the islands Hydra and Psara. All prizes were send to this squadron.
