French navy at Havana, Cuba according to the Army and Naval Chronicle dated 20 June 1839

According to this magazine, p. 399 there were several French warships at Havana, Cubana including the steam ship Meteor coming from Pensacola, the frigate Caravanne with 500 soldiers coming from Martinique and the frigate Fortune, bomb vessels Vulcan and Eclair and the brigs Saumon and Griffon coming from Vera Cruz, Mexico. All ships were waiting for admiral Baudin coming from Texas, USA. Baudin arrived at Havana 29 (May?) with the frigate Nereide, the brig Cuirassier and a sloop of war and was enthusiastically receipted.(1)
