Curacao, 20 August. The schooner Julia master J.J. Eugene arrived Thursday
noon coming from Barracoa, Cuba with the news that 11 French warships, mostly
heavy ships, while the smallest were a brig and a schooner brig arrived there.
A boat of one of these ships went to the shore and take 2 pilots on board. It
was suspected that the ships were destined for Havana, a suspicion confirmed by
the news last two weeks published in newspapers in Colombia and St. Thomas.
