American schooner Oxford fitted out as a brig rigged whaler according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 2 December 1862

An item reported that the rigging of the schooner Oxford of Fairhaven, USA was at that moment converted into a brig. Further more was she fit out for a whaling cruise in the Atlantic Ocean. Stewart earlier commanding the Swallow of New Bedford, USA was to command her.
