American whaler Reindeer lying at Honolulu, Hawaii according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 2 December 1862
A letter from captain Raynor of the ship Reindeer of New Bedford dated Honolulu, Hawaii 15th October reported that he arrived on 29 September returning from the Arctic Ocean. His catch during the season consisted of 1.500 barrels of whale oil and 27.800 lbs bone. The bone was unloaded waiting for transport towards the UAS with the Raduga which was expected to arrive every moment. The Young Hector took 400 barrels of oil towards san Francisco, USA. The Reindeer was now bound foe a whaling cruise along the Californian coast.
