Dutch submarine K I towed towards the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Tilburgsche Courant dated 12 September 1916

An item reported that the first Dutch submarine left Nieuwediep, Netherlands towards Dutch East Indies towed by a tug.(1)

1. This was the K I built at the Kon.Mij. De Schelde, Vlissingen, Netherlands 1911-1914. The tug was the Dutch tug Witte Zee.
