Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Prins van Oranje off Tenerife bound for Brazil according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 14 May 1850

An item referred to a report written by captain Bouricius on board of the Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Prins van Oranje off St. Cruz, Teneriffe on 30th March reporting that everything was well on board. He arrived there on the 27th and intended to depart on the 30th. He was ordered to visit Rio Janeiro, Brazil underway. The minister of navy requested the consul general at Rio to warn immediately Bouricius if the town still was harassed by yellow fever to prevent entering the port and in this manner to protect the crew.(1)
