Dutch shipyard Kon. Mij. De Schelde at Vlissingen, Netherlands repaired engines and boilers of the Dutch ironclad Hr. Ms. Kortenaer in 1907


In the order administration dated 20 December 1907was the order for account of the Dutch Department of Navy described as repairing engines and boilers of Hr. Ms. Kortenaer. Contracted price ƒ 127.050 to which sub contract were added on 25/30 March ƒ 15.450, 16 September ƒ 5.901,50, 28 October ƒ 5.200 and coal ƒ 1.138, totally ƒ 154.739,50. Repair costs totally ƒ 79.949,50 (labour ƒ 19.043,14, expenses labour+adjusting+travelling+ indwelling ƒ 28.850,14, extra expenses ƒ 2.400, material ƒ 29.656,22) resulting in a profit of ƒ 74.790.(1)

Displacement 3.400 tons and as dimensions 86,20 x 15,30 x 5,10 metres, horsepower 4.659 hp, armament consisting of 3-21cm guns, 2-15cm guns, 6-7,5cm guns, 8-3,7cm guns (since 1907 4), 1 torpedo tubes and 2 torpedo guns. Crew numbered 260 men. Coal bunker capacity 330 ton. Costs when fitted out for the first time ƒ 2.792,482. Two screws. Speed 16,0 knots. Engines and boilers manufactured by the shipyard Kon. Mij. De Schelde, Vlissingen, Netherlands.
