Spanish navy strengthened with cruiser Blas de Lezo according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1925 no. 3
An item referred to the magazine Schiffbau dated 13 May 1925 no. 9 reporting that the new Spanish cruiser Blas de Lezo had as dimensions 140 x 14,02 x 4m42 metres. The horsepower of 45.000 hp allowed a maximum speed of 29 miles. Her crew numbered 320 men. The armament consisted of 6-15,2cm guns, 1-7,5cm guns and 4x3-53cm torpedo guns.(1)

1. Laid down at Sociedad Española de Construction Naval, Ferrol, Spain on 28 September 1917, launched on 3 March 1923, completed on 13 May 1925 1925 and wrecked on 11 July 1932.. She was first Mendez Nunes named and her sister ship Blas de Lezo, but he names were changed. Built using the design of HMS Caledon.
