Nicknamed The Prune Barge, Building ordered on 28 December 1915, laid down at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard on 25 October 1916, launched by Barbara Stephens Zane on 20 November 1919, commissioned on 10 August 1921, modernized in 1929-1930, damaged during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941,reconstructed at the Puget Sound Navy Yard between June 1942-31 January 1944, decommissioned on 14 February 1947, laid up in reserve and sold to the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, Sparrow Point, Maryland, USA be broken up on 10 July 1959.

Displacement 33.190 long tons (original)-40.950 long tons (after refit) with as dimensions 180 (waterline)-190 (over all) x 29,69 (original)-35 (after being rebuild) x 9,19 metres or 600-624 x 97.5-114 x 30.2 feet. Turbo-electric transmission machinery supplying 26.800 (original)-29.000 (after modernized) allowing with the 4 screws a speed of 21 knots and with a speed of 10 knots and a oil bunker capacity of 4.893 tons a range of 8.000 nautical miles. Their crew numbered 1.083 (peacetime)-1.407 (wartime) men. The origin al armament consisted of 4x3-35,6cm/14”/50 guns, 25x12,7cm/5” /51 guns (decreased to a number of 14),4-7,6cm/3“/50 guns and 2-53cm/21” torpedo tubes.
