Dutch shipyard Kon. Mij. De Schelde at Vlissingen, Netherlands manufactured steam steering gears for the Dutch ram monitors 2nd class Zr. Ms. Panter and Hyena in 1880

In the order administration dated 1 August 1880 was the order for account of the Dutch Department of navy board Hellevoetsluis described as the delivery of two steam steering gears Bow McLachlan’s Patent for the Dutch monitors Zr. Ms. Panter (1) and Hyena (2) for the contracted price of ƒ 20.900. Building costs totally ƒ 13.120 (2 steering gears ƒ 7.386,93, material ƒ 1.724,47, labour ƒ 1.477,08, expenses 65% labour ƒ 1.572,57) resulting in a profit of ƒ 7.779,90.

1. Ram monitor 2nd class, On stocks at the Navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on 25 November 1869, launched on 19 October 1870. Trial on 28 October 1872, commissioned on 24 March 1874 , stricken in 1906 and sold to be broken up on 29 October 1906.
2. Ram monitor 2nd class, laid down at the Navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on 25 November 1869, launched on 22 December 1870, trial on 16 September 1872, commissioned on 1 April 1874, stricken in 1905 and sold to be broken up on 11 July 1906.
