The French naval budget for 1908 according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1907-1908 no. 5
An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that for 1908 the French navy asked for approval of a budget of 321,9 million francs which was 9,7 million more as the year before. In 1906 however was the naval budget even 325 million francs. The minister of navy stated that France had a regularly naval budget and that until 1911 or 1012 320 million should be sufficient. Germany in contrary raised the naval budget within 10 years from115 to 348 million francs and England even from 574 tot 846 million. There were none capital ships to be built. The proposal was to built 10 destroyers and 5 submarines. Further more was proposed he raise the wages of the personnel, costs nearly 2 million.
