Possible with diesel machinery fitted out cruisers built for the Royal British Navy according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1912-1913 no. 4

An item referred to the German magazine Schiffbau reporting that according to rumours for the Royal British Navy on short notice two cruisers with diesel machinery were to be laid down on British shipyards. The Danish firm Burmeister&Wain at Copenhagen, Denmark would make the diesel engines.
