Norwegian salvage steamship Salvator harassed when she tried to assist Spanish battleship Espana according to the Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch nieuwsblad dated 25 September 1923

The Espana

An item dated Gibraltar 16th reported the arrival of the Norwegian steamship Salvator which supported the run aground Spanish battleship Espana.(1)  Her crew stated that a Spanish armed trawler fired at them on a distance of 20 miles south east of Gibraltar. After an examination of 2,5 hours was she allowed to depart. The Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 17th conformed the item an that the Norwegian salvage steamship tried the help the Espana at Cape Tresforcas.

1. Laid down on 6 December 1909 at the shipyard of the Sociedad Española de Construcció Naval in El Ferrol, Spain, launched on 5 February three years later, completed on 23 October 1913 was she lost when running aground on 26 August 1923.
