An item reported to the magazines Le Yacht and Schiffbau reporting that the Brazilian destroyer Santa Catharina (1) exceeded the contracted speed of 27 miles. Just like the British Royal Navy earlier that year decided, was for this ships just like the other 9 of this type more attention paid to the strength of ship and engines then to achieve an extra ordinary high speed. The destroyers were built by Yarrow, Glasgow, Scotland.
