Built by F. Schichau GmnH, Elbing, Germany with yard number 1441 as the Rietfontein, but renamed Elandsfonstein. Sunk by Russian artillery fire while lying at Gdynia, Poland on 25 March 1945. Salvaged on 20 March 1947. Towed by the Dutch tug Zwarte Zee towards the shipyard Kon. Mij.De Schelde, Vlissingen, Netherlands where she arrived on 9 August 1947. Completed between 1947-1950 as the Jagersfontein for the NV Vereenigde Nederlandsche Scheepsvaartmaatschappij (VNS), The Hague, Netherlands and served on the shipping line Amsterdam, Netherlands-South Africa. Sold in 1967 to the (Embadja Co. Nav., Piraeus, Greece and renamed Devon in 1967 and the same year broken up at Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Gross register tonnage 10.574 tons, deadweight 10.321 tons and as dimensions 159,35 x 19,15 x 9,21 (depth) metres. Speed 17,5 knots. Passengers accommodation consisted of1 40 1st class and 60 tourist class. Crew numbered 117 men. Netherlands-flagged, homeport The Hague, IMO 5516779 and call sign PEYW.
