An item reported the arrival at Colon, Panama of 5 submarines of the Octopus design with a displacement of 238 (surfaced)-275 (submerged) tons where the boats were stationed for the defence of the Panama canal. The voyage from Cuba towards Colon over a distance of 700 nautical miles was achieved without problems
