An item reported that the Italian shipyard Fiat San Giorgio at La Spezia built for own account a submarine dock using plans of Laurento. The dock was also able to simulate the pressure on a contracted depth without the need of lowering the submarines to that depth. It consisted mainly of a cylinder shape air tight compartment of 7 metres diameter, a length of 70 metres and a maximum beam of 11 metres.
