Russian destroyer with unknown (radar) device entering the harbour of Leningrad, Russia according to a CIA report dated 15 March 1957



An item reported the sighting of a destroyer on 23 November entering the harbour of Leningrad [St. Petersburg], Russia passing the oil tank installation at the entrance. She was flush decked with a pronounced sheer, two masts and with two masts placed for each funnel fitted out with radar antennas on the mastheads. Except for the common direction finder, was there also a nearly spherical shape unknown contrivance at the forward edge of the bridge seen. On top of this device was a square box and furthermore was a nozzle or spout protruding forward.
