American submarine USS G-4 executed part of her trials according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1913 No. 10

An item referred to the Army and Navy Journal dated 16 August 1913 reporting that the American submarine USS G-4 executed her trials on 7 (and 8?) August with a displacement of 358 (surfaced)-458 (submerged) tons. During the submerged trial off Princetown, Massachusetts she achieved a speed of 9 knots. The 4 miles and 24 hours trials were yet not executed.(1)

1, Laid down as Thrasher by William Cramp&Sons, Philadelphia, USA on 9 July 1910, renamed G-4 on 17 November 1911, launched on 15 August 1912, commissioned on 22 January 1914, decommissioned on 5 September 1919, sold to be broken up on 15 April 1920 and stricken on 13 August 1921. Of the G-class, preceded by F-class and succeeded by H-class.
