Greek armoured cruiser Georgios Averov needed repairs according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1911 No. 9

An item reported that the Greek armoured cruiser Georgios Averov needed around 6 weeks work to be repaired after she hit off Penele Point a reef in the Plymouth Sound when returning from the coronation of the British king George V in London. Minister president Venizoles stated in the Greek parliament that the costs would not exceed 4.000 British pound.(1)

Note

Of the Italian Pisa-class. Ordered 1909, laid down at the Orlando Shipyards at Livorno, Italy 27 February 1910, launched 12 March 1910, commissioned 1 September 1911 and decommissioned 1 August 1952. She was originally intended for the Italian navy.
