American whaler Adeline arrived at Port Russel, New Zealand according to the New Zealand newspaper Daily Southern Cross dated 28 June 1873

Fishermen in boats have been attacking a whale but one boat is upset and a man is falling out.

An item reported the arrival in the port of Russell, New Zealand on 6 June of the American whaler Adeline of 357 tons master Marrian returning from the South Seas with 770 barrels whale oil 400 barrels sperm oil and 2.000 lb bone. (1)

1. Whalemen's Shipping List dated 8 April 1873 reported as homeport New Bedford, USA, master Marvin, of 353 tons, agents Charles R. Tucker&Co., departure om 21 September 1869.
