Whaler Guia arrived at Sydney, Australia according to the newspaper The Sydney Gazette and New South Whales Advertiser dated Thursday 19 January 1837

An item reported the arrival on Tuesday of the brig Guia of 148 (?) tons captain Banks with 500 barrels oil. She departed for Sydney in May 1835 for the sperm whaling.
