Laid down by the N.V. Nederlandsche Scheepsbouw Mij., Amsterdam, Netherlands by the Stoomvaart Maatschappij Nederland with yard number 194 on 29 June 1928, launched on 3 Augustus 1929, maiden voyage started on 13 March 1930 towards Batavia, Dutch East Indies,later chartered by the Holland-Amerika Lijn and Dutch East Indies-fagged, homeport Batavia, since 20 January 1941 registered as troop transport operated by the British Ministry of War Transport Organisation, converted at Belfast, after the war rebuilt, used as Dutch troop transport between the Netherlands and Dutch East Indies and later as repatriation transport, sold to the Greek Lines of Basil Goulandris in 1963, renamed Lakonia and sunk after she was burned out on 29 December 1963 370 kilometres south west of Lisbon. Gross register tonnage 19.429 tons, under deck 12.154 tons, net tonnage 11,606 tons and as dimensions 586.2 x 74.8 x 36.1 feet.
